7 bus terminus to be established outside Nairobi CBD

A committee formed to oversee decongesting the Nairobi City Centre has made tremendous steps in ensuring matatu menace in the CBD is addressed.

Nairobi County deputy governor Jonathan Mueke says the committee which comprises of official from the city inspectorate, Ministry of Transport and Matatu operators have among other things, resolved that the county government establishes seven bus terminus outside the CBD, where matatus will be dropping and picking passengers.

Speaking to the press on Monday, the deputy governor noted that matatu operators are also playing an important role in decongesting the city by regulating themselves by picking and dropping passengers at specific points within a few minutes.

According to Mueke, this is a great move in ensuring the city centre is free from traffic.
