Lands Ministry to vet land boards afresh

The Lands Ministry in partnership with the National Lands Commission (NLC) is set to conduct a fresh vetting process to constitute the new lands control boards tasked with tackling land grabbing cases.

Cabinet Secretary Prof Jacob Kaimenyi said the vetting exercise will help ensure fair service delivery, free from corruption, adding that when board members stay in the same positions for long, they are likely to be tempted to engage in corruption deals.

He also added that unscrupulous land board members have made the government lose millions of shillings through irregular compensations caused by poor service delivery.
