Don’t interfere with police vetting, NPSC warns

The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has warned members of the public and critics from interfering with the on going police vetting exercise.

The Commission’s Chairman Johnston Kavuludi said the exercise which commenced last year is scheduled constitutionally and is aimed at bringing positive changes to the police service, and not to humiliate, punish or dismiss police officers from duty.

Kavuludi has indicated that the police vetting panel which he-chairs, has so far vetted 454 police officers in the traffic department from Nyanza and Western regions since the exercise started early this month after vetting those in Mombasa.

The NPSC boss further disclosed that the officers will be informed of their fates after the Commission completes assessing respective the reports of each of the officer vetted.
