Under its County Assembly Project Implementation Management and Committee Act 2014, the Uasin Gishu County government is conducting elections in all health facilities across the county.
This aims to elect community members who will manage development projects in all the health facilities.
County health administrator Silas Boit said the election exercise will go on, depending on the period which the outgoing committee’s serving term expired.
He noted that every health facility will elect their own new committees as per their statements, that details inception of the outgoing committees.
Boit urged elected committees to manage the facilities projects professionally since the entire Uasin Gishu community rely on them.
“As the public, you are the watchdogs of government projects. Ensure they are of quality and that they be completed at the right time. Do not leave all the work to Ward representatives,” he said, Wednesday.
Boit was speaking during one of the elections held at Lemoru Trinity Dispensary in Koisagat, Ziwa ward.
During the elections, nine committee members were elected, with Mr Wilson Arusei emerging the chairperson.
