Kenyan threatens to oust Parliament if his petition to ‘remove’ IEBC is ignored

A Kenyan, Barasa Nyukuri has threatened to initiate legal means to oust the eleventh parliament through the Court, if the national assembly will not consider or take with utmost gravity, his petition to disband the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Appearing before the joint Parliamentary Justice and Legal Affairs Committee and the Constitution and Implementation Committee, the political analyst presented a 39 page petition, for the removal of IEBC commissioners.

He on Tuesday cited incompetence and lack of integrity as his reasons for the removal of current IEBC chiefs.

Nyukuri said there is no other way to remove them from office, and defended his petition, saying it is valid on facts.

He petitioned the national assembly, seeking the removal of the Ahamed Issack-led Commission.
