County Executive Committee (CeC) Members in Makueni County have been warned that they risk sacking if they continue sleeping on their job.
Area Governor Prof Kivutha Kibwana said all development projects launched across the county must be completed as per the given time, adding that he will not spare any county officer that will fail in their obligations.
Speaking after the County Assembly passed Sh7.2 billion 2016/2017 Financial Year budget estimates, the governor noted that he will ascent to the budget even though some of the project allocations in the budget were exaggerated or were not important to Makueni residents.
On his part, County Budget Committee Chair Francis Mutuku said Sh200 million has been set aside to cater for universal healthcare for all residents, where they visit health facilities for free drugs, provided they have national ID cards.
This is the first time the troubled county government has passed budget early as planned.
It has been facing leadership wrangles since 2013, with some county members recommending that president Uhuru Kenyatta disbands the entire county government for a fresh by-election.
The situation has stalled various projects that would benefit area residents.
Things have since resumed in the county, with Governor Kibwana putting county officials on toes.
