After seeing Samuel Abisai win Sh221 million megajackpot on SportPesa betting game, a man has decided to try his luck, but in an unusual way.
Philip Ochiel travelled to Kakamega, from Nairobi county, to try his luck in the weekly SportPesa jackpot, claiming the county has a lucky streak.
According to him, most of the SportPesa jackpot winners have been hailing from the Western Kenya region county.
Ochiel’s betting friends told The Nairobian that the Kayole resident travelled to Kakamega after 28-year-old Abisai won millions two weeks ago, before another Kakamega man, Alfred Madanji won Sh81 million, few days later.
“He said he will be travelling to Kakamega for some business, so when I didn’t see him on Sunday evening, I assumed he did travel,” said Fred Olaw, his betting friend, as reported by GameYetu.
Speaking to The Nairobian on phone, the 31-year-old confirmed that he was in Western for some business and would be back soon.
“I travelled to Kakamega for serious investment, but I will be back soon,” said Ochiel, who works as a loader in Industrial Area.
When pressed further over the business he had gone to do, Ochiel admitted that he was in Kakamega, to place a bet, hoping to be rich.
“Sometimes it is good to try new things. These people are not better than us in soccer prediction. I suspect it is about the county,” he told the sports daily.
