The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has presented over 65,000 to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), signatures collected from 27 counties across the country.
This is after the Commission set May 22, as the deadline for all presidential candidates to submit a list of at least 2,000 supporters from 26 Counties in print and excel form.
Addressing the press outside Anniversary Towers after the presentation, Monday, ODM Acting Secretary General Dr Agnes Zani indicated the party went through the names to ensure the signatures are valid.
She said as ODM and Nasa alliance, the team would ensure they abide by all IEBC deadlines and requirements, including attending Tuesday’s briefing for all presidential candidates in Nairobi.
“We went a step ahead through verification to ensure theses are the names of the people who are supporters of both ODM and Nasa, in the respective counties,” said Zani.
On the issue of Wiper party submitting the name of Kalonzo Musyoka to the IEBC as a presidential candidate, the Kwale Nominated senator said ODM and Nasa were looking into the matter and would update Kenyans immediately it is resolved.
Raila Odinga is ODM’s and Nasa alliance presidential candidate, while Wiper’s Kalonzo is his running mate.
