Kilifi governor Amason Kingi selected Gideon Edmund Saburi, as his running mate ahead of August general elections.
Saburi holds a Masters Degree in Construction Engineering and Management from the University Of Birmingham, UK and has over 34-years of professional experience in Civil Engineering.
He has been a lecturer at the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) as well as serving as the chairman in the Department of Building and Civil Engineering at the same institution since 2016.
Saburi also served as County Executive Committee (CeC) member at the Kilifi county government, in charge of Roads, Transport and Public Works Department.
He was as well in charge of the Department of Tourism and Co-operatives before moving to ICT, Culture and Social Services.
“His persistent optimism and willingness to deliver results and community transformation will be phenomenal in the race for the gubernatorial seat with him as my deputy governor,” Kingi, and ODM governor, said, Wednesday.
