The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) advertised for 362,278 vacancies ahead of the August 8 polls.
The Commission invited qualified applicants to apply for the temporary positions which have been categorised into six, by June 15, 2017.
The vacancies include:
Presiding and Deputy Presiding Officers – 91,032 posts; Polling Clerks/Counting Clerks – 262, 665 posts; Logistics Officers – 337 posts; Deputy Returning Officers – 290 posts; Support Electoral Trainers (SET) – 5,054 posts; and Voter Educators (2 per CAW) – 2,900 posts.
“Closing 15th June. Only one application per person,” warned the agency, in a notice to the public.
Below is a reaction from some of the interested applicants, on Facebook, with some saying it could be a hoax.
When I personally tried to apply by clicking the link, it as well failed to work. The screenshots below were the outcome.
The Wafula Chebukati-led Commission is yet to respond over the matter, but however, there could be a possibility of jam on the website, due to the heavy number of persons trying to access.
