National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has reiterated that general elections will be held on August 8th, and that the date will not change.

He said Jubilee will emerge the winner irrespective of who prints the ballot papers.
Citing the questions that Nasa alliance has raised over the tendering process to the Dubai-based Al Ghurair Printing firm, Duale said it is not the printing that will determine the winner, but Kenyans themselves.

The Garissa Township lawmaker has come to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s defense after Nasa linked his family and younger brother to the tendering process, saying the president has no interest whatsoever in any suppliers to the IEBC, which is mandated by law, to carry out the exercise.
He warned Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga, to stop looking for excuses for a loss he sees as inevitable and canvass for votes directly with the Kenyan people.

“The President has no interest whatsoever in any suppliers to the IEBC, which is mandated by law, to carry out the exercise. Raila Odinga, the ODM candidate, must stop looking for excuses for a loss he sees as inevitable and canvass for votes directly with the Kenyan people,” Duale, said in a statement, Wednesday.

Duale told the Opposition to let IEBC do what it needs to do to run a credible election, saying Odinga has sensed defeat as usual.

“Let IEBC do what it needs to do to run a credible election. Chipping at it seems is a cheap shot. Odinga has sensed defeat as usual that’s why he cries wolf in every election and everyday. Let him prepare for his fourth loss in a presidential election.”

“We have had 43 by-elections since 2013. Twenty of them had ballots printed by the same company he says Jubilee is using In those 20 a majority were won by ODM/CORD. Why dint he decline then?” he added.
