The Opposition’s National Super Alliance (Nasa) has filed a case in Court, seeking to revoke the Sh2.5 ballot papers tender printing that the IEBC, awarded to Al Ghurair Printing and Publishing LLC.

High Court Judge George Odunga directed the Opposition to serve the Wafula Chebukati-led Commission with the suit papers, and appear in Court, Friday June 23, for further directions.

However, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party is seeking to be enjoined in the case as an interested party.

The party is opposed to Nasa’s claims, saying the Raila Odinga-led coalition only seeks to paralyse the August 8 polls, after sensing defeat.

The move by Nasa, leaves the decision to print ballot papers in balance, since the Court will have to decide whether to cancel the tender process or continue, basing on the evidence presented by the parties.

Analysts say the move by Nasa is likely to affect the elections date.
