A section of Opposition leaders from Kisumu County have raised fears, that Kenya Army spokesman Col Joseph Muloa Owuoth, is missing.
Led by Senator Anyang’ Nyong’o, Nyando MP Fred Outa and Nominated Oburu Odinga, the leaders said they last spoke to Owuoth, Monday July 31, when he was in Nakuru.
They said the family has raised concerns that they are yet to hear from him, since then.
Nyong’o called on the government to ensure the KDF officer is found safe and sound, with Outa criticising President Uhuru Kenyatta’s leadership, over cases of disappearances.
They said Owuoth could be missing, after he issued a statement, admitting that the secret document that leaked, about ‘illegal’ KDF deployment to various regions during elections, dubbed “Operation Dumisha Utulivu”, was authentic but quoted out of context.
“The Army spokesperson who confirmed the document, Col Joseph Muloa Owuoth was ordered to leave to for a compulsory leave, to his home in Koru, and not to address the press. He talked to his Sister Elizabeth,” said Nyong’o.
Addressing the press in Kisumu, Tuesday at around 10 am, the leaders demanded for the answers over Owuoth’s disappearance, saying he should be produced while alive.
However, some sources dismissed the allegations by the said leaders, on social media, saying Owuoth had confirmed that he was safe and sound.
His alleged disappearances comes after the murder of IEBC ICT Manager, Chris Msando, who was found dead Monday, after he went missing Friday July 28, 2017.
