US Ambassador Robert Godec and British High Commissioner Nic Hailey have condemned the killing of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission ICT manager Chris Musando.

Musando went missing on Friday night before his body was found in a thicket in Nguriunditu area in Kikuyu, Kiambu county and taken to the City Mortuary on Saturday morning.

The body was later identified on Monday at the mortuary by his relatives, three days after he was reported missing.

Through a joint statement on Monday, US and Britain offered to help probe the murder of the late Msando.

Below is the statement.

The United States and the United Kingdom are gravely concerned by the murder of IEBC’s Systems Development Manager Christopher Msando. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and the entire IEBC team. It is critical that Kenya have free, fair, credible and peaceful elections on August 8, and protection for IEBC staff is essential to achieving this goal. We welcome the Government of Kenya’s commitment to investigating the murder. We have offered our assistance in the investigation.
